Silky Words Slide over her dessert Teasing her fruity passion With fresh-whipped anecdotes, Molten chocolate tales, Madness molded into Fashion As foul-mouth phantoms fill the filthy restaurant air (stealing from the tip jar) Her date sinks down low in his seat trying to figure out gratuity, Pounding on his calculator... He looking for The Algorithm of Love, oh, The Algorithm of Love, The Algorithm of Love, He got it, In his pocket, But, she still picks up the tab and leaves. He doesn't even notice. Nah, he's too busy scribbling madly with a borrowed marker on his sleeve. Outside she pops her earbuds in, Starts to sing and spin When she realizes She left her phone back at the bar (so, what was she dancing to?) She turns around to go back in When she crash into a Musician Djinn Who just Grins Wishin' For a new Guitar... So he can play The Algorithm of Love, oh The Algorithm of Love, oh The Algorithm of Love, Well, she turns 'round to go, moving like in slo-mo As the Genie wishes for a clean shirt. She asks, Are you alright? He says, It didn't even hurt! She says, Why don't you let me buy you some dessert? Later... She wipes some chocolate off his cheek As he grants her every wish But, she simply stretches back and smiles, and says, The only thing I really want Is to throw out my computer. I don't need it to calculate... The Algorithm of Love ...She got it!

Got a premonition, Lean in to transition, Learned a new position, If you give me permission, How long Before we start it all? Hear my proposition: Listen to intuition, There's no price for admission It's a real nice position For us How long Before/until we start it all? I know a place Where we can escape from the sunlight Where those scorching/burning rays will never touch your perfect/naked skin... ...and we can begin How long Before we start it all? V2) No need for translation I speak for every nation Tuned into this station With all my relations They wanna know How long.... Your eyes cut incisions Across my condition I've gone into remission I need your permission Tell me, please, How long... But, I know a place... [br] You say you don't know where it will end, You don't even know where it begins. You don't even know who you can trust, Or the difference between love and lust V3) So here's the situation I've been across the nation Searching for a station To fuel up with elation ... How long Before we start it all I'm in mint condition (Just a little itchin') On a secret mission looking for admission ...To your door... How long Before we start it all

Share my blanket On the ground Feel my naked Turn around Let me go For your skin Got to know Let me in To your hall So soft and warm I'll give you all Just Keep me warm Another day Coming fast We'll make our way Past the past [end] I Swore I’d never see that look again I Swore I’d never get that hurt again Load my gun Pack the tent Time to run The message's sent Tattoos cover Your silky tan I can't recover I cannot stand My bough does break Beneath your stare My lungs ache For your crystal air Your eyes do shine Like symphonies In these ears of mine With perfect ease I Swore I’d never see that look again I Swore I’d never get that hurt again Can we escape This wretched noise Of our minds raped By screeching toys I will not promise More than I can give You will not miss The life we have to live I Swore I’d never see that look again I Swore I’d never get that hurt again (repeat first verse)

She feeds me honey Like a bee Wraps her wings Over me She don’t want money To receive...me She love to feed me To release me She feeds me honey [ii] She feeds me honey Like a bee Defies the Law Of Gravity & follows waves Beyond what we see She feeds me honey [iii] She feeds me honey, She like the sea, She like the mountains, & eternity... She brings me substance, Sweetens my tea, I devour her meaning, Her mystery... She feeds me honey... [iv] I fly to roam, to take a chance, She guides me home With her dance She feeds me honey… She feeds me honey…

Living on a shoulder Never felt bolder Sailing on the ocean Never having any fun Something to consider Why I feel bitter Sailing on the ocean Never having any fun Ch: Polly Want a Dreamer Polly Want a Screamer V2: Heading out of port Nothing to report There is no escaping All the pillaging and raping All the scum and scallywags Giving me eyes under my bags Sailing on the ocean Never having any fun Ch: V3: Landing on an island Deserted here without the wind Slowly die of scurvy In need of someone curvy Stranded in the doldrums Waiting for my ship to come Sending out a letter S'possed to make me feel better Try waving down a plane Ignoring all my pain Sailing on the ocean Never having any fun Ch:

Well, I walked into the meat market To buy me some friends Ended up talking to a pork butt, but Not sure to what end Looked at the selection But it wouldn't look back 'Til I caught eyes with a little chickadee And so, I attacked! ...no looking back [dm, G] Gimme some flesh I’m a carnivore, baby, I drink blood, I eat meat Ain't no baby, babe, But I still like to suck on a teat. Oxygen deprivation clouding my judgment again. A high-risk situation driving me to the end. Get to emergency station Hook up to life-support Just ignore the elation Of using up my last resort... [Ch} Let me take a breath Before I go making a fool of myself again [v2.] Brazenly blaring bells Bang on my burning brain, Baby face breaking blue, Just ignore the pain, just ignore the pain Inferno inside my lungs, Don’t know where my self-control went. Gotta get a grip, gotta get a grip, gotta get a grip Before I unleash my torrent. [ch] [Ch2] ...trying to make a friend... ...of an empty wind... ...Searching for oxygen: [Coda:] Let me Breathe...

Last thing at night, First thing in the morning Searching for the torch light That inside your eyes i see burning Soothing sight Elegance defined Kneeling at your side Tracing the delicate line of your neck That was the chair we shared Conversations going knowhere I saw when you looked in my eyes There was something you liked about my style About the way I keep telling you: [Ch] You make it Easy, so easy To tell you you're beautiful To tell you you're beautiful V: Just One more dance, every day For the rest of our lives I have been saved up For the perfect moment, The perfect wave 🌊 The comes crashing to you I've already Been to the beach, I've seen our graves. Stones in the sand standing side by side Connected by the vines A wreath, a leiea, Tiny candles burning through the Night and day. As if to say... [ch] Passing constellations, Gravitational tides Light bends when it passes you by No use explaining to The uninitiated who Can never grok The shade beside the rock You provide To the select few Who do know How exceptional the view Of you Why you gotta make it so easy...

I want to see you in the afterglow... you know I’m gonna take it nice and slow... You know I know exactly where to go... I want to see you in the afterglow... [V.: ] Contact... Making connection. Complete Electrification. A cut of silk slips away... An invitation to stay? [ch] [V2] Come back In my direction. Combat My disconnection. A silky shoulder showing bare, A smoky, smoldering stare... [ch] [coda: ] Contact… Contact…

Wishing Well 03:42
Wishing Well [A- bmin; bmin-A] I held her voice, She held my eyes, Deep inside a dream ... I heard her cry "Are you gonna be mine…oh, oh? Are you gonna be kind…oh, oh? We can leave it behind…oh, oh… Down at the wishing well, Oh… Down at the wishing well. [G, A] "I'll meet you in a reverie Where we can dream the same dream I can see you slipping through the seams Won't you dive into my Stream...? [ch] "I'll meet you in a reverie Lying in bed up in a tree I miss you like you're missing me Are you gonna climb up here and kiss me? [ch] G, A “Dancing in the endless sea, Breakers breaking waves all over me, ...Sand bar tripping at your feet Won’t you Lay me down back on the beach [ch] "Meet me in a reverie Breezes rustle through the leaves Kissing me so tenderly, Never gonna let you leave "Meet me in a reverie Unfold for you my Mystery Entering so secretly, Crying out repeatedly: "Are ya gonna be mine? Oh, oh..."

Tattoo 04:33
Ink stained fingers, Wanting to let my gaze linger On your dermal decorations Igniting my imagination... Trying not to stare, But wanting so badly to go there, Colorful swirls on your thigh... A masterpiece, to my eye. [ch] I want you to want to tattoo your name on to my skin. I want you to want to tattoo my name on to your skin. I want you to want to undo the clasp (x: Pull back the veil) and let me in. I want you to want to tattoo my name on to your skin. I want you to want to tattoo my name on to your skin. [V2] Find your favorite artist With an unequivocal eye Let her pick her favorite needle Under a phosphorescent sky Sanskrit or Egyptian, Holographic Haiku, Floral geometrics, Kanji Any style will do... [Final CH:] I want you To want to ...to want to be my new Tattoo…

Take me For a Ride Through your neighborhood Treat me like a child That's been acting good Afterward, We'll die Like you knew we Would Take me for a ride Through your neighborhood [V. 1] Show me the shortcuts, Show me the twists, Show me those curves I can't resist. Take ya down the alley Behind the dumpster, Where I make you my lover, You make me your gangster. King of the streets, Queen of the Night! To stay! You better clear out our right-of-way! They can build a roadblock, But it ain't no use: There's always a way around it. We Rule Where We Cruize. [ch] fly/could [V. 2] You take the wheel, I take my journal, Dig up my soul, Stick it with my liver on the window Next to my lungs, my kidneys and spleen What do they mean, "Why are you bleeding?" Can't remember why we came this way We've been down this road. It's time to repay All the favors I gave That I lived to regret. Now, I'm grateful for all I get to forget [ch] [V. 3] Now, Step on the gas, Get us out of this town, Promise me we'll Never ever turn around Hit the afterburners Drive to outer space Where We can scream all we want Turning blue in the face At least we’ll be able To be as loud as we want far away from the natives' Jeering and taunts And when we expire, The car will fall like a star, Shooting 'cross the sky As campers play their guitars [ch] Coda: We Rule Where We Cruise

Ghosted 04:14
How am I supposed to feel: Knowing you toll the bell for me? A Story I could never invent, wondering where my body went. Peering at you pirouette, My phantasmic hands reaching, Drawing lusty stares From my séance chair. Moaning for your mortal blood... Barely more than a whisper... [G, A, F#] ...such ghastly dreaming Of sweaty stampeding, [ch: bm, G, A] I’ve been ghosted Now you can see right through me ... Gotta haunt this house for eternity... I’ve been ghosted [V2] As the scent of midnight leaves, Watching you dream, I try to tease your nipples, Metaphysical ripples... Witness the dervish dancers Spinning into their ecstasy... In the corner of their eye My shadow they spy. Your curvy, bloody coastline, Waves break on your sun-bleached shores, Wracked by your swollen typhoons, Singing my ghostly doom... I been ghosted ...wallow in the wailing of this banshee ...wandering the edge of this Dead Sea... For eternity... Now, you can see Right through me... I been ghosted I been ghosted I been ghosted.
14.
Couldn’t escape my skin, hid in the bathroom stall. Telephone numbers carved into the dirty wall Promising everything a lonely soul could want... Ignore my conscience, whip out my...phone and make the call... ...to an empty hall... [ch] Wish I was falling in love, wish I was falling in love Can’t ever get enough, can’t ever get enough Been chewed up, spit out: still too tough Wish I was falling in love, wish I was falling in love. (...with...) [V2] Phone ring & ring as I sing to myself, but nobody picking up. Ears ring & ring as I stare at the floor and try to aim into a cup. So, I throw down my phone, run down the corridor and crawl outside Take off my clothes, stand alone where I like to hide... ...in plain sight... [Ch] [Br] Though it burns in my Mind My eyes have gone blind And as it burns in my heart I turn my emptiness into Art [V3] Feel the breeze on my neck as I step off track Chasing a thought I thought could help to lead me back To where...the walls are clean, the floor is swept and my mind is clear Back to the meadow where I held My Love so dear... ...among the white-tail deer... [ch] [ch] [out] Wish I was falling in love, wish I was falling in love... ...with Somebody Falling in Love, Somebody falling in Love ...with me.
15.
What do I do with all these songs? I tried to write them to right my wrongs, Imagining you might want to sing along... What do I do with all these songs? What do I do with all these melodies? Written next to you, with our backs to the trees, Imagining our journeys overseas... What do I do with all these melodies? What do I do with all these words I write? They keep me awake like a siren in the night Should I reign in my passion? I don't know what's right... What do I do with all these words I write? What do I do with all these songs? I wrote them for you; is that so wrong? Or for hoping you might want to sing along? What do I do with all these songs? What do I do with all these songs? What do I do with all these songs?

<FIN>

> When I was young, "The Phantom of the Opera" came out, and I listened to the soundtrack repeatedly, imagining the story without ever seeing the production. Once I actually saw the musical, I was actually somewhat disappointed, preferring my own imagination's interpretation. Thus, I present this work with just the setting, the words, and the music. The rest is left up to the imagination. The Director and Cast are encouraged to improvise and/or write anything they desire, although I enjoy the idea of an improvised performance between songs each night.

> Also, I adore the idea of the work as a ballet; the "orchestra" performing as the dancers render their interpretaion(s) of the music. Also, hopefully, with improvisation to make each performance unique.

>.All pronouns are interchangeable, as desired. Likewise, all vocals are interchangeable with whatever gender desired.

---------

>Production Notes: As The Cure said in the liner notes for their album, "Disintegration,":
This Album was mixed to be played loud, so TURN IT UP!
(That being said, please don't damage your hearing!)

> No pitch correction, quantization, or loops were used in this recording. That is to say, any mistakes you hear were left there on purpose for one reason or another. (Besides, as Bob Ross said, "We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents!"). Not that I'm against loops, etc. I love all that. I just chose not to use them here. The goal was a record with a "natural, live" feel that was (technically) reproducible by human performers.

> I used a few digital keyboards and pianos, digital bass sometimes, and a few kicks. The entire album was recorded on a 2012 MacBook Air with a single Blue Yeti USB microphone.

>The album was mixed on earbuds, airbuds, several different broken headphones (one pair 40 years old), my iPhone's speaker, a one-channel P.A., an Amazon echo, and my Samsung TV. (I look forward to hearing it one day on a nice system.)

>I play a Collings D2H. I also recorded with a heavenly Republic Resophonic (Thanks to Marie Moss) on a few songs.

>My drum set is a vintage '70's Ludwig kit, with a Pearl free-floating brass snare; Zildjian crashes, splashes, and hi-hat (KZ & AA); the ride is Paiste, and I have another Sabian crash (DeJohnette Signature Series.) The Bodhran (Scottish Frame Drum) I received as a gift while traveling through Inverness, Scotland. It's one of my (several) prized musical possessions.

>Another prized possession is the Ghanian bekete I am astoundingly lucky to possess (also a gift.). You hear it featured in "Tattoo."

>The baby piano is a real baby piano made by Jaymar (also, a gift) and its beautiful tone continues to astound me...I was excited to feature it so much on this record.

>The glockenspiel you hear (aka "Set of Bells" or simply, "Bells") is your standard issue high school glockenspiel I still had since high school. Quality and Cost do not always coincide...I think it sounds darn good! (As do the homemade shakers I made out of jars, Cafe Bustelo cans, rice, lentils, and popcorn.)

>Oh, and for any fellow orchestral percussionist nerds out there, I play a one of those cheap LP half-moon silver tambourines (just such a nice jingle!), and a blood-stained Grover copper, circa 1991(?).
